Yangquan is the third largest city in Shanxi province,with a population of 1.3 million.
The objectives of the Yangquan demonstration project are to improve government to citizen services(G2C) through innovative methods and technologies,with a focus on narrowing the digital divide. Of crucial interest is the provision of access and services on a grassroots level, and addressing the imbalance of information flow,improving the access to social security services,fostering accessibility of government information and hence increasing public policy transparency.
The system aims to provide four levels of
e-government services at municipal,county/district,township and village levels.The Yangquan e-government service will include:
- Developing a real-time “inquiry system” of government laws and regulations.
- Developing a public service system of “one-stop shop” services on-line.
- Setting up a “data exchange centre”.
- Improving “e-document exchange” system.
- Improving “tele-management system” for e-government.
